Tutorial Transcript

Hello everyone! and welcome to lesson 9 of my TPRS Russian course. Today we're having a mini-story about eyesight and glasses. As usual I will tell the story first and then I'll ask you easy questions after each sentence. Here you can use the subtitles, English or Russian, doesn't matter. But the most important part is that after that you should come back and try it one more time without reading the subtitles. The most important part here is listening and trying to understand. Ok, now comes the short mini-story. Here we go. My eyesight is poor. That's why I need eyeglasses for reading. But I lost my glasses. I have been looking for them for 10 hours. Wait a minute. Here they are! That was the mini-story. And now the most important part - I'm going to ask you easy questions after each sentence. Here the most important thing is that you should give the answer out loud. And if you can not give the full answer. I mean the full sentence. For example I'm asking "Have I been looking for my glasses for 10 hours"? You don't have to answer "Yes, I have been looking for them for 10 hours" or "You have been looking for the glasses for 10 hours". No. If you can not do that, it's okay. Just say yes or no. If you don't understand, say that! "I don't understand" Just pretend that we're having this conversation one to one in real life. Of course you wouldn't be sitting like that, not knowing what to say. You would answer anything. So, just like that here, too Let's give it a try. I have poor eyesight. Do I have good eyesight? No, on the contrary. I have poor eyesight. I have bad sight.
