We're going to... commemorate the death of my grandfather it happened 12 years ago so I've decided to share it with you and also to show you how the Russian orthodox cemetery looks like because it's so much different from American and European cemeteries And if you don't speak Russian, please turn on English subtitles go to the settings and choose English there Here we go! A full shot glass of cognac for a deceased It's put on the gravestone And two shot glasses for us for me and my Grandmother to remember my Grandpa who died 12 years ago on this day the 5th of November This is how the Russian cemetery looks like tables and fences at each grave If it's a new grave they make a mound and put a wooden cross without a portrait later they replace it with a gravestone Gravestones may be different For example, a biker ot here is the gravestone as a sculpture this is a grave of a young woman Here is someone in the military uniform And behind is some man who plays drums And again a table and a bench to recall the deceased The graves of military men are always decorated with a coat of arms You see? The two-headed eagle. This is a symbol of Russia These are graveyards with full-height portraits Probably it's husband and wife Another sculpture Children's graves are usually decorated with angels Little angel And they bring toys and natural flowers it's very sad of course And some commerce in the end Right in the cemetery one can buy gravestones Prices are different Starting at $500 and to several thousands And also here one can buy artificial flowers and wreaths to put on the grave And that was it for today.
