Hello everyone! Daria here. And welcome to another Real Russian Club video. Today we're celebrating a big holiday in Russia – Cosmonautics day. This is a wonderful day when a man for the first time in the history of humanity flew to space. And this is this man – Yuri Gagarin. I will tell a little bit about this 'situation' in Russian If you don't speak Russian, use English subtitles. And here we go! Today,, on April 12, we are celebrating Cosmonautics day. On April 12, 1961 a very important event for the whole humanity occurred. For the first time, a man flew into space. And this man was Yuri Gagarin. On April 12, 1961, on the ship Vostok, he flew into space. The flight lasted for 108 minutes, after that the cosmonaut successfully landed in Saratov region. Since then, Gagarin became a man of the world, of course. He visited many countries and met thousands of people all over the globe. People loved and respected him all over the world. Today every Russian city has the Gagarin street, or the Gagarin square, or the Gagarin bridge... A lot of things were named after him. And the town where Yuri was born is now called Gagarin.
