Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel! In today's video we will talk about the "caffettiera", the Italian moka pot, the queen of coffee in Italian homes. Why do I want to talk about it? Because I receive many questions on how to use it, so I'd like to explain how to make coffee with this moka pot. Some people call it "moka", but I personally call it "caffettiera". Obviously, we have Bialetti in our homes. I have many of them at homes, of different sizes. I'll show you. So, we have this one, this one, and the biggest I have is this one. I believe this is 12, 12 servings. This is 2 or 3 servings. So, let's start with what a caffettiera is made of. For example, let's take this small one. The moka pot is made of three components: the upper part, the lower part and the filter inside. I won't open it because I've just made coffee with it, I've also drunken it, but the filter is full, so I won't open it. But you can see the images here. In the lower part add water and fill it up to the valve, then position the filter inside and add ground coffee in it. Take the upper part and screw it tightly, so that coffee - or water - won't come out from the middle, we want it to come our from here. So, screw the two parts tightly and then place the moka pot on the stove. Wait for 4 to 5 minutes, you have to keep an eye on it, so that the moment the coffee comes up, you turn off the stove. Remember to put water in the lower part, otherwise the moka pot will explode. Then, once you have made coffee, you unscrew it like so. Unscrew the moka pot and clean it just with water, do not use soap! Just water. If it's the first time you use the moka pot, so it is brand new, you've just bought it, before drinking the coffee you make with it, you need to make the same procedure at least twice and then throw away the first two servings of coffee, because it is necessary as the moka pot is brand new, it comes directly from the shop shelves and it needs to be used a couple of times first. If you want, before using it, you can also wash it by hand with some soap, but that is just because it is brand new.
