Valerian - Standardized Extract 90 caps

Valerian extract may not work for everyone but it does work for everyone I know that has used it, including myself. You should know, though, that this is not a sleeping pill. It will help you to relax but you are still responsible for trying to go to sleep. You can't sit in bed watching television, grousing over your lousy day, and texting people on your cell phone and expect to magically doze off. However, if you take it DURING your lousy day it might help you to not be so uptight about it. And, yes, it does have a strong smell but a lot of other supplements smell bad, too. All I can say is to just swallow the capsule before the smell gets to you.

I do not know if it smells strongly because it is standardized but the odor is terrible. I am taking this to relieve some stress and have yet to notice any differences. I would suggest storing this separately from porous items.

Other than not sleeping enough hours, I sleep well. So far, I've taken three Nature's Way Valerian pills spaced out over several months for fun. I did enjoy deep sleep and wake up well-rested.

A couple of times I had a mild heavy feeling in my head on waking, but that feeling dissipated quickly. The only bad thing about the pills is the awful smell. Even with the lid completely closed, I can still smell it from a few feet away. I eat something after taking a pill to stifle the smell.

The best part of Nature's Way Valerian Extract was the deep, vivid, and sometimes strange dreams or nightmares. My mother took one and didn't have special dreams, though. I still plan to take pills occasionally just to experience those vivid dreams.
