I have sevier GERD a Hyadas hernia and spastic esophogus. My esophogus was very irritated and I was in the hospital twice thinking I was having a heart attack. When I was finally diagnosed I was put on Protonix. Great for long term but not very much immediate relief. Ordered this out of desperation. It did actually work to relieve most of the pain after the first couple of doses. I would recomend this for at least short term use until your medication has time to start healing you. Don't mix it. Just turn up the cup provided and chug it. No it isn't tasty and it is slimy, but it does work.
