A to Z Naturals, Non-Irradiated, Psyllium Husk Powder, 12-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 4)

This stuff is nasty. There are no two ways about it. I ended up giving up on it and moving over to a pill form of the psyllium husk. I just couldn't stand the taste nor the consistency of it.

If you're looking for something to compare with the texture of drugstore or GNC fibers, this won't be it, but if you're used to using pure psyllium, usually from a health food store, then you've found what you're looking for. The "fibers" in those others are so refined they're no help at all, without the added chemicals that push food through the system. I'll take natural every time. I squeeze half a lemon into a glass of warm water every morning and add a heaping tablespoon of psyllium husk. I've been doing this, not necessarily with this brand, for the past 20 years.

It is hard to find fiber products that are JUST psyllium - this one is! I am trying this on lieu of a GNC product. Although it says "Powder", it is a quite a bit more coarse than that. I fixed that by giving it about 30 seconds in a VitaMix using the dry container - now it is powdered! I would buy it again.

We actually purchased this to mix half and half with Metamucil just to cut down our intake of artificial sweeteners. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to take--mixed or straight--because it's not powdered at all (more like flakes) and floats on top of the water.

Too bad we had to buy four cans of this stuff.
