I had 3 medications after major surgery that were constipating. In the hospital I was given stewed prunes with all 3 meals, and that eventually worked. I'm on a number of medications, two that cause a serious amount of constipation. Even using laxatives, extra fiber, and softners, I still found it difficult to have a comfortable bowel movement.
