I suppose it was just that I was immediately as used to it as I was satisfied, when I poured the first stream out of the bottle and into my palm, then slapped it on my face. It was so right, combining everything I love about Witch Hazel -- the freshness, the pleasant, non-stinging astringency, the instant wake-up feel -- with the pungent smell of lemon. Its exactly right. I don't know why. But I leave the house feeling younger, smarter and better-looking than I have any right to feel, or look, with a spring in my step.

Actually, in the past year I've decided to stop buying/using after-shave lotions, even those that mate with colognes I use, simply because virtually everything I wear has either a strong citrus base, or component, and WH/Lemon goes with all of it as well or even better than the after-shave does. Electric or blade, it somehow makes my face feel happy, afterward, like a good barbershop shave. Clarifies things, and saves money too. Can't beat it.

Besides, although you always want to look good and smell good, you want to avoid the impression of having been 'Styled.'

I shave with a rose shaving cream and I was hoping to get a witch hazel to use as an aftershave, that smelled as good as the cream. But this stuff stinks! It smells funky, old and moldy, not like a rose.

I think I'll pass on this witch hazel and stick to a store brand toner and my usual Nivea aftershave balm instead.

The ingredient in this is mostly water. I wanted witch hazel, not scented water. It is scented with rose scent, which is way to strong. I like natural a rose scent, which is much more pleasant. Also, there is aloe in this product, which tends to leave the skin a little sticky. I wish they would have listed ALL the ingredients on the amazon page. I really don't like this product at all.

I like this natural alcohol free toner. Mostly I use this product as mask and it make my face soft. feel good!
