works to reduce chloresterol
This review is for red yeast rice. Not sure why the product name on this page says red clover? In any case, eight months ago my boyfriend's chloresterol was 230 and his triglycerides were 150. After three months of taking this brand of red yeast rice his chloresterol dropped to 188 and triglycerides down to 95 - and that was making no other changes in his dietary or drinking habits. This stuff is amazing. He was just tested again and his new numbers have held steady. Way cheaper than $400/month statins and he has had ZERO side effects.

Good product
I have not used this long enough to know if it reduced my cholterol yet, but I have used many NOW products and been very satisfied with them.

Consumer beware
In the United States (including Canada) it is no longer legal to sell supplements containing the specific strain of Monascus purpureus used in the studies detailing the benefits of red yeast rice. You can still buy red yeast rice supplements in your local health food store; however, these supplements are produced using a different strain of yeast or fermentation process than those used in the studies. The red yeast rice products may have little or no cholesterol-lowering effects. Why a company would profit off of innocent ignorance is beyond me.[...]

Buyer beware! Doubtful that red clover works for menopause!
The effect of red clover on menopausal symptoms, if any, is so slight that it is "unclear" whether the supplement provides any meaningful relief from menopausal symptoms, according to alternative medicine researchers in England, who reviewed the five best studies in the February 2007 issue of Phytomedicine. Studies in 86 British women, 23 Australian women, 84 U.S. women, and 12 Dutch women found red clover ineffective for lessening the severity of menopausal symptoms. One study of 53 women in Ecuador found that red clover helped.
