New Chapter Host Defense, 60 Vcaps, 0.5 Bottle

I have always been prone to allergy related sinus infections. These would tend to occur at least 3-4 times a year and take several weeks to clear. One of my friends recommended this product and was impressed with New Chapter's sound scientific formulation. There is more and more evidence supporting mushroom supplement immune support. Since I have been using the product (for about 9 months now), not 2 capsules per day as recommended, just one, I have not been sick at all. No colds, no sinus infections. On days when I don't feel quite right, as if I'm fighting something off, I'll take 2 capsules. I am generally very skeptical of claims and products but I'd have to agree this one is very effective and worth exploring if you're looking for something backed by sound science. New Chapter is a solid company. Highly recommended.

I am amazed, to say the least, at how FAST I get my orders for this product that I am using on my daschi. It seems that no sooner do I turn off my computer than, ding-dong.... here it is. I am also thrilled with the pricing although I think I was charged for shipping when I should not have been. Even so, the price is great and I am delighted. I ALWAYS recommend this to my friends as a vehicle. Being NOT SAVVY with computers, this is easy; even for the likes of me!!!The product is helping where nothing else has helped my suffering girl with her dreadful skin condition. I am disabled and on a VERY fixed income so the price here is great and I appreciate that it is helping one of the main individuals in my life. Without my pets, I don't have much. I am a breast cancer survivor who was looking into natural products to take safely while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. I found this recommended on Dr Weil's site as well and decided to give it a try. It is amazing. I have had so much more energy since taking the product. I feel like the fatigue that chemo was causing is so much less now and I recover faster than without it. I would recommend it to everyone. I intend to keep taking this after my adjuvent treatments are over!

I first used Host Defence last year when I was ill with a viral infection not that dissimilar to Glandular Fever. After 6 weeks of feeling very ill, having a lack of energy and suffering with dizziness and blackouts, and being advised by my GP that the only cure was rest, I decided to visit my local health food shop who recommended this product. I decided to give it a try and was so pleased I had because within two weeks I was feeling fit and well again, with no symptoms at all of the virus. Whether it contains any 'magic' ingredient or not it has worked for me and I would recommend it to anyone.

The doctor, who is a Harvard graduate and author of several health-oriented books that have been on the NY Times bestseller list, explained that many types of mushrooms have remarkable immune-enhancing properties and therefore, he highly recommended that they be added to the diet - either eaten fresh or in capsule form, as in Host Defense. To be honest, I never thought much about this product until my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, for which no treatment or hope whatsoever was offered. That's when I remembered Dr. Weil's article about Host Defense and searched for more information about it on the Internet. When I read that it increased the body's killer cells by 300%, and in medical tests done in Asia, had remarkably reduced the size of malignant tumors, I decided that my mother had nothing to lose by trying this product, so I ordered some for her. The price certainly was reasonable enough. Well, 8 months have passed since my mom's upsetting diagnosis and she began taking the Host Defense capsules. Yesterday, she mowed her lawn and then spent the evening bowling on her bowling league. Tomorrow, she is off on a bus trip with her seniors group. She says she has more energy now than she's ever had in her life. People keep telling her how great she looks. She hasn't taken anything other than the Host Defense, not even aspirin, and she swears it is the reason for her current state of good health. I have always believed that nature holds the key to cures for many illnesses, as opposed to something created in a lab. All I can say is that Dr. Weil not only has a medical degree, he also has a degree in botany, and has spent years studying and researching medicinal plants, so his recommendation of Host Defense to strengthen the body's immune system certainly is not something to be taken lightly or dismissed as "snake oil" or a placebo. As long as my mom keeps improving, I will continue to order it for her.
