I have no comment on what it does - I leave that to my nutritionist. In the quantity he has me using it, this package well might last me for years. I don't know if it has uses beyond what he recommends. He has me mix it in other products as part of a recipe. So all else I can attest to is its convenience. It's well packaged in a jar where it is easy to serve it with a spoon. It is a conveniently sized dark container that easily fits on a kitchen shelf. It's in powder form and is easy to work with.

I started using this in the 80s, from a health spa in California. It isn't fancy at all, nothing that has curative powers. However, it gives flavor and taste to things so that you curb your use of butter, and regular salt. I dump it on popcorn, baked potatoes. When I need to tighten it up a bit, I stir some of the powder into hot water for a broth throughout the day at work, which seems to keep away that afternoon candy bar craving.
Not exotic, but it's been a staple "condiment" for me for over fifteen years.
