Ting Ting Jahe Ginger Candy (7 oz.)

I've been enjoying the Ting Ting Jahe for years and nothing else satisfies me like the real thing. Others are to soft or too hard, too rich or too weak, too spicy or not enough, too expensive or questionable because they cost so little. I'm fortunate to have these sold in a market within walking distance so I never have to be without. The rice paper melts in the mouth as I chew the perfect texture which contains the perfect ginger heat that satisfies alone or with a cup of tea. When we ran out this week, we walked to the new store instead and purchased a different brand and both were disappointed. They were more costly, more fattening, and came in prettier wrapping papers, but the Ting Ting Jahe is so far superior that I'm going to purchase a few more bags today.
UPDATE: Just bought the bags and they are now packaged differently. Each candy is in a sealed foil wrapper instead of the rice paper and paper wrapper with the ends twisted. Now the rice paper is not attached but you still get a similar taste and texture, and the ginger is even stronger. They are more chewy, too. They improved a great product!

My Mother swears by these for digestive uses. So when I was having morning/all day sickness, she suggested them. I eat one or a half before and after a meal and thank goodness, I have kept everything down for the past 3 days!!! Hopefully spicyness will not bother baby, but momma is finally eating!!!

I just purchased 20 bags from [..] and they sent me very, very hard and smashed ginger chews. I sent them two e-mails and they never responded. I called and the young lady who answered called me back and told me they would refund my money if I sent them back at my own expense! They charged me close to $20 to ship the order to me in the first place.

These candies are wonderful when fresh! Ginger is good for all those things mentioned by the previous reviewers, but ginger is also extremely beneficial for women's parts... It sooths body flora and all kinds of things!!

Beware; if you can't get an expiration date from the seller (the date on these packages are in some Oriental writing) and if they don't have the rice paper on them, then the candies have got to be a couple of years old! The rice paper alone does not insure they are a newer lot, because even these can be very, very hard. The fresh chews are fairly soft and easier to chew; they are probably safer too. The heat of these candies ranges from fairly mild to extremely hot, but is no judge of freshness either. So, try to get someone to read the production and/or expiration date on the packaging for you. The best use of this product is within 4 months of production, but is good for 3 months after expiration.

I wish I could get a better response from [..], I would really like them to send me a replacement (return at their cost) for edible Ting Ting Jahe -- but I won't hold my breath -- so stay clear of them!

Good luck finding them for their original price of $1.35/7oz. bag, too!

I have no complaints. This product is great for morning sickness for the pregos out there. Product came on time and in good condition.

My local Asian Market turned me on to these, they are THE BOMB! Kind of expensive in the world of candy, but they are just the right amount of spicy and full of flavor. Think spicy/sweet taffy chews and you are there. And the package is cool too.
