Dangerously not moving...
I will be the first to admit that hot young russian girls making out is nothing I have a problem with, but the first album by TATU was truly an excellent album all around (and if you only got the English versions do yourself a favor and get the Russian ones, they are excellent and you aren't distracted by the lack of meaning that comes from singing a translation).

Everything from the energetic Nas Nie Da Goniat (SP in fact SP on everything in Russian) to the somewhat corny Robot song were enjoyable to listen to and gave you the feeling they were something you heard before and liked but were simultaneously new and exciting.

Dangerous and Moving feels like the ugly sister of 200 Miles in the Wrong Lane and makes it hard to figure out if I am more dissapointed that they aren't really lesbian lovers or that the quality of the songs dropped so much. The only decent songs seem like cutting room floor edits of songs from the first album and just seem somehow pale and lacking in energy and interest from the performers.

The performers have grown up, the lusty rumors about them have been dispelled and they appear older and less vivacious. They just don't look so much like the crazy Russian girls would pull off the stunts in their original music videos and the spark that is missing from their eyes is similarly missing from their music.

The solid and enjoyable progressive style of their songs seems to have taken an a turn for the boring side making me almost think they discovered their goth side and are just miserable now and even the energetic breaks sections feel contrived and unpolished.

Overall every song had the same been there, and it was ok but not worth doing again feeling compared to the first albums exciting familliarity. It's hard to point out the exact reasons all around as it seems every facet of this group has decreased a little resulting in an overall dissapointing album espcially considering the long wait.

Apparently their contract calls for 3 albums... I can only hope that they only LOOK like they lost that spark and they can bring back the feeling of mischevous Russian girls out to make trouble in the name of love (or even lust)... but honestly my hopes for their future albums aren't high, all th emore sad as the original album really added something to a genre that is all to often worn out and overdone.

Very very good!
This is a great CD! Hats off to Trevor Horn and the songwriters, production, and arrangements. This is a slick studio CD with some great vocals. The songs are very catchy, beautiful, and emotional. This is fast becomming very favorite CD. It's too bad T.A.T.U. become popular merely on the speculation that they were teenage lesbians. Certaintly, the girls are cute and the visual has a bearing on artists popularity. But in the end, it's the music that really counts and their music is excellent. If this was bubble gum pop, I would care less. I would shrug it off and laugh. T.A.T.U are miles apart from say Britney Spears. The music sounds mature, with great elements of pop, electronica, and finely crafted songs. Since their second CD didnt fare as well as the first CD (with all the lesbian hype), I suppose they may change their style on the third CD. But for me, this is the best one yet. Buy this CD!!!

I would get the Russian version if I were you...
Since they got so much MTV attention in the US and sold a billion copies of the translated version of their Russian language hit "200 Po Vstrechnoj", TATU decided to do their second album in english. Of course they also did a Russian version called "Ljudi Invalidi" which is the one I'm recommending. No, you don't have to know Russian to appreciate the songs.

Actually, pretty darn good
I would have given t.A.T.u.'s last album 2.5 stars (most of which because of the amazing single "All the things she Said", but this album is a solid 4 stars. Reason being, it's much more listenable. In fact, the first 6 songs are all very good, and could each be radio singles (well, the 1st song is actually an instrumental intro).

The sound is definitely different. Uses a lot of cosmic, techno sounds, piano, and deep bass beats, which actually blend together quite well. In fact, the music is actually very solid. Sure, the Russian duo's voices are nothing to write home about, but the songs speak for themselves.

I couldn't take their debut album seriously, as I found it awfully corny/cheesy. However, this album is legit in every way, shape, and form. Two thumbs up, for sure. Get this album!

Constant Rotation
t.A.t.u have matured and it shows. This album is in constant rotation in my CD player. The beats, the layering and mastering are excellent. Just the right blend of pop and electronica. The girls' voices have matured as well and they are using more of their instrument, blending their natural high voices with lower, more sensuous notes. They don't have to make out on stage anymore to get attention, their talent does it for them!

5 stars all the way!
