Too cool
My son read this book in school and he absolutely LOVED it. For those people who are just reading for leisure, there is very bitter satire in this book. This is fun to find. There is also a very inspiring theme.

Delightful reading for young and old.
This book is a must for readers young and old. With our world being in such turmoil at this time, taking a magical trip with The Little Prince will delight the young; and for the mature reader give pause for thought as to what is really important in our lives right now.

See Katherine Woods' translation - this one is NOTHING like the original author's writing
Antoine de St. Exupery's The Little Prince is one of the most beautiful, insightful, and touching works ever written in any language. It is not really a story for children, although children do enjoy it. Do read it as a child, and over again through the years. Yet it is only after a lifetime experienced in love and disappointments, joy, loss, sorrow, hope, and resilience, that one can most deeply appreciate this beautiful jewel.

Unfortunately, Howard's translation is disappointingly bland and, in places, actually inaccurate. Don't waste your time. I'm surprised that the publisher permitted this travesty, which reduces de St. Exupery's richly descriptive prose to a ten-minute bedtime story. Horrid.

Please, go find a copy of the Katherine Woods translation. The Woods translation does justice to the beauty of the original.

The Little Prince -- it is a masterpiece. If our civilization -- if humanity itself -- were to be represented only by this one work, we should all feel deeply honored.

NOT the "real" english translation of this profound book!
The original Katherine Woods translation of this book is wonderful. This new translation by Richard Howard doesn't come close. Look for the original translation in used book stores or veiw it online. Some things should never be redone. This redo is the literary equivalent of the Michael Bolton version of Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman". If, by reading this review, just one person ends up reading the Katherine Woods translation instead of the one by Richard Howard, I will consider the time it took to write it well spent.

My Favorite Book EVER
My dad fist gave me this book and I just love it! The pictures are perfect for the story in every way. The stories are beautiful, I feel like the author is painting poetry in my mind. The stories have lessons and humor, and yet you find yourself wondering 'Are these real?' But by the end of the book you are completely convinced: The Little Prince is real and lives on his little planet with his flower. I've read it many times and every single time I cried. Trust me, I am not emotional and I never cry at anything. I love this book and hope you will buy this true classic. It has something for everyone of all ages, I think even adults will enjoy it. -thank you.
