Panasonic DMR-EZ47V Up-Converting 1080p DVD-Recorder/VCR Combo with Built In Tuner

It takes forever to start up, it freezes once a week (meaning you have to unplug the unit and plug it back in,) switching channels in digital mode works when it wants to. I use to be a fan of Panasonic, after buying this product I have now refused to buy anything Panasonic. I have had this product for over a year now and I'll probably just throw it away. Thought about putting it up on eBay, but I wouldn't give this to my own worst enemy.

Hard to use, in fact we only use it as a player now. We use our PC instead for any video DVD recording.

It is a basically the same as the early to mid year VHS recorders; difficult to program, quirky, the recorded video is not DVD quality, and every time the power goes off the clock starts flashing.

I've had this product for a year and wish i read the reviews first.
It shuts off at random. It will freeze up at least once every two days and Panasonic doesn't know why. I've unplugged the unit over and over to unfreeze it. I can't stop it from showing a label on the tv screen saying it's a dvd or a videotape----I know what media I'm watching why keep reminding me? I'm going to buy a different brand for Christmas and just watch old vhs tapes on this one.(expensive vcr for sure). Do yourself a favor and don't take a chance. It only got worse as time went on and I didn't return it. Next time when an item starts to go goofy, I'm sending it back before the return period is up.

I did receive the unit on time and in working order. The unit was very
clean and after a learning curve, went into use right away. I'm very happy about the performance. It's a good choice.

Command response is SLOW. Very frustrating. Timed recording is iffy. Sometimes it records sometimes it doesn't. I missed viewing many TV programs because it.
I very much dislike this unit and am looking for a replacement.
