Best picture of any small HDTV
I was looking high and low for a 19-inch monitor/TV to use in a TV station for semi-critical monitoring. Such a thing proved hard to find, until I stumbled across this LG. This is the only small monitor I've found that allows you to turn off all of the "junk" that most sets add to the picture -- thus, it is possible to get it to display an image that is free of edge enhancement, noise reduction, and other processing artifacts. It displays an image that appears to be "flat," and is very easy on the eyes and allows for critical viewing. It also has the most extensive set of adjustments I've seen in just about ANY set regardless of size, as well as built-in test patterns! For around $200 out the door, it competes favorably with broadcast-grade monitors costing thousands more.
The sound is not great as others have noted. In our application, we don't use the audio, so it doesn't matter. I was a little surprised to see that there is NO audio output available what-so-ever, so there is no hope of connecting this to an external sound system. That is the most serious flaw to be sure. If your main concern is picture quality though, this is the best there is, assuming you know how to twiddle the controls to dial it in. I highly recommend this!
