I paid around $40.00 for this piece of junk. DO NOT BUY! We used the radio for less than 8 months before if broke. The company wants you to give them $8.00 to send back, and then the cost to ship and insure. By that time, you're up at around $15.00. Not worth it! Our little $10.00 radio was better than this one. 2008-12-17

Buyer beware, this radio is not the one for you. I ordered this radio thinking it would be a decent entry level shortwave radio. Upon receiveing it I immediatley sent it back. The radio was able to pick up about one or two of the major shortwave broadcasts, but the volume knob was barely hanging on and about to fall off. For nearly forty bucks you would expect a radio of little higher quality. The reception quality is about what you pay for, but the quality/crafstmenship of the radio was unbelievably poor. If you are really interested in getting into shortwave, go to eHam.com and read some reviews on shortwaves of the past, and try and find a used one. Radios made in decades past far exceed any radio currently being made today (this statement applys to radios that are about 500 dollars or less today). So if you remember anything from this, dont buy a Sangean SG-622, let alone any sangean product. There are some other reviews on Amazon that really talk this radio up, dont beleive it. I speak from experience. 2008-03-08

This is a nice, basic, FM/AM/SW receiver, with the emphasis on "basic". It's small footprint beats my old Grundig YB400, as does its requirement for only 1/2 the number of batteries (3 AAs vs. 6AAs for the Grundig), but it lacks an external antenna input, and its reception of distant regional FM radio stations is not as good as the Grundig. It was only half the cost of the Grundig, and, as in many cases, you only get what you pay for. 2008-01-18

We use it a few times a year when the tornados roll into town. Like it. 2008-01-07
