My Father Was Impressed
Bought a different brand for my husband on clearance and it works fine. My father liked the idea of the solar panel for days when he is sitting outdoors and expressed an interest in having one. I saw this one on Amazon and it had the features I was looking for - the crank, solar panel, an emergency light (and good reviews). When he opened it on Christmas, my father immediately gave it some cranks and turned it on. He was very impressed with the sound considering how small the radio is. He definitely likes it and will make good use of it this summer to listen to the ballgames, music, and talk radio.

This was a gift for my 4 nephews, brother and husband- its pretty cool -I stole from my hubby and keep it in the window to solar charge.

no outlet connection
Everything on the purchase and use is fine EXCEPT the online ad didn't clearly state that no power plug in for the radio is included - power sources are hand crank, solar batery and plug into USB in a computer. I had to search all over and call Eton to find an outlet plugin, which took another couple of hours and $5 more.

Eton FR150 is a life saver
I bought this little radio at a very reasonable price here on Amazon. It arrived immediately. I was going to use it as a stocking stuffer, but had the ice storm in New Hampshire that was threatening our little house up there. I took the radio along, not realizing how quickly I would need it. We had no electricity (still don't) and so "camping out" in 2 degree weather was not our idea of a vacation. We were willing to stay on and tough it out, as did so many others in Peterborough.
The weather station (which is loud and clear) told us of the blizzard that was on its way. Mind you, we had NO electricity, no TV, radio, running water, just a pellet stove which we discovered needs an electric start!
The radio's news of the storm made us decide to leave. We returned to NY. We left at 6 AM and as we reached White Plains (which now takes on more meaning for me) we were in a white out.
I am thankful to have the radio, and will now buy 4 more to give as gifts.
It is reliable, compact, solar works great ... I did not need to crank it. I did not have to try the cell phone charger, thank goodness.

Great little radio
I think that living in California with the constant threat of earthquakes, it is an item that everyone should possess. The radio works great and the flashlight is an added bonus.
(And the best part is that no batteries are needed.)
