Pioneer VSX-1018AH 7.1-Channel A/V Receiver

Welcome to the Pioneer VSX-1018AH. At about $400.00 dollars, this receiver decodes the new Dolby True HD and DTS-Master audio formats. As for sound, this receiver hits all the notes beautifully with exceptional clarity for both movies and music. The highs and lows are crisp and clear through the entire sound stage. I like the different sound fields which include Action, Drama, Sci-fi, and Expanded. The variety of choices lets you experience movies in their own way. As for the price, you could not find any comparable receiver with as many features and performance in this price range. Just read the specs and justify for yourself.

The receiver is powering 2 polk 300 Watt speakers and has no trouble. I mean I cannot go to full volume because it hurts my ears. The clarity is good but not as good as my Denon avr987. Overall worth the price especially for 130W per channel. The extra 20 W really do make a difference. No amp necessary with this receiver

This is one of the most simple things I have ever hooked up. I have this and the Klipsch Synergy Quintet III for my speakers snd it sounds so good the mike that comes with it is so easy to use i can't belive it also the hdmi upconversion is the sme one thats on the pioneer elites so don't feel bad that you bought this instead of one of those guys

I haven't had this long enough to give a thorough review...I've yet to have time to really play with it. The sound quality is the best compared to others I've heard in same ballpark price. The features can't be beat. I wanted to note that the price just dropped by $50 recently so if you've done your research and are debating because of price I'd say go for it. I replaced my Pioneer Elite VSX-45 that I paid more than twice the price of this unit just a few years ago. This receiver rocks! It does all the latest sound codecs as well as 3 hdmi inputs. The best part is the improved MCACC, standing wave control, and phase control. My home theater never sounded better.
