love the soundbar
This soundbar is great--we can finally hear all the conversations on "24". Very clear and with a big range.

The solution for secondary LCD's
We bought this soundbar for a secondary 42" Sharp LCD that is only used for "casual" TV watching in a large open area that needed more volume and clarity than the small factory speakers could comfortably deliver. We do our "serious" movie watching in the theater room with the 50" Samsung and the JBL L-series speakers that shake the whole house. So, this soundbar was a terrific, affordable, aesthetic solution to enhance the sound of a secondary setup without the bulk or cost of a typical surround system. This soundbar is absolutely not acceptable for a proper home theater setup. Of course, neither are the small "home theather in a box" surround systems, if you ask me.

Sharp HTSB2002 2.1 sound bar
The Sharp HTSB2002 sound bar is a small neat unit that can be set up easy in several ways and the sound quality is good.Weakness is in the remote as it is made for the Sharp tv and you must use the remote to control the sound bar. Would be better if the unit could be controled with same remote that is used for tv.

not the best description of product
its a decent speaker, the problem is that it has no hdmi hookup, which is what it says on the ad, and even recommends that you buy hdmi cables to go with it, which it doesn't have a hookup for. So if you want a system to hook up to your tv with hdmi, it doesn't work, because no hookup. So, a decent system, crappy advertising.

Sound goes "static-y"
I didn't want a big surround sound system, so I love the size and ease of hook-up for the sound bar. However, the speaker intermittently sounds fuzzy or "static-y" and has to be turned off. I haven't figured out what causes this to happen. It will work fine for some time, but suddenly goes bad. Sharp has authorized sending the sound bar in to see if they can figure it out, so they are working with me on the problem.

UPDATE: Got the sound bar back from the Sharp Repair Center. It didn't act up for them, so they didn't fix it. (I don't know how long they left it on?? It's an intermittant problem. Maybe they didn't wait long enough.) I hooked it up again and after about an hour, the sound went bad. When it's bad, it has to be turned off; you can't understand a thing from the tv audio - just fuzzy noises. I contacted Sharp customer service again via email; waiting for response. Since I like the size of the sound bar (and the sound is fine when it works), I hope they'll exchange it for a new one. If not, it's going to have to go back.
