Philips NP2900/37 WiFi Internet Radio Network Music Player with Rhapsody (Black)Customer Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Total Reviews: 39 Out Of Stock ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Love our Philips Internet Radio
We absolutely love our Philips Internet Radio. We moved from Seattle to the Olympic Peninsula where we had very poor radio coverage and reception. We missed listening to our old favorite Seattle stations. We hoped an HD radio might fix our problem, but our reception was just too poor. But when we had earlier researched possible HD radios, we remembered a review from a person who apparently had a similar problem and returned his HD radio and bought an internet radio instead. After we did our own research, we selected the Phillips NP2900/37 and kept our fingers crossed that would really work as advertised. We were not disappointed in the least. We now can not only pick up all our favorite Seattle stations, but stations all over the world. The set up was easy and we pick up a good signal (3 bars out of 5) in our kitchen--about 60 feet and several rooms away from our Linksys wireless router. While intially disappointed the Philips did not have an IPOD dock, we realized this did not matter as it easily streams music from my PC to the radio over the wireless system. The radio has a very nice sound quality, but don't expect it to match that of a pricy home entertainment system. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() wifi doesn't connect
Wifi does not connect. It recognizes my router but does not connect after the password is entered.
It does connect through the ethernet and functions nicely with international radio stations. But without the wifi capability it is useless. 2010-01-14
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Useless if you want Internet Radio - Ok if you want Rapsody
At first I thought the problem was me, but noooooooo I could not get a decent WiFi signal even when the darn unit was placed in the same room with my router. I also compared it with streaming Internet Radio to my desktop pc, and I had no problems getting the radio stations to play, so I know it is the Phillip's Streamium problem... must return this unit immediately, its definitely not worth the price if you want to enjoy portable Internet Radio. To be fair, Rhapsody works fine and the sound is good and the unit looks sharp.
I could go on about the really useless customer service and the tedious menu system you must navigate with the remote control, but this revue would start to sound like a rant. To sum up - Just don't buy this unit. 2010-01-02
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't buy this product If you're looking for a nice alarm clock
The alarm clock needs to be reset daily. The machine has difficulty distinguishing between the buzzer & music settings.
Further, the WiFi signal (short antenna) is pretty limited. In a small flat is unable to pick up a good linksys signal if the bedroom door is shut. 2009-12-30
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks & Sounds Great
We're really happy with our Streamium. It looks and sounds great. The programming should be a little more intuitive and the clock has a tendency to change time-zones, unexplained, minor complaints when compared to richness of sound and access to variety. Buy it, you'll be happy! 2009-11-02
