Needs more...
Pros:
- Solidly built
- Fairly simple to use (good thing because the user's manual is not the best)
- Batteries last a long time

Cons:
- Needs more screen resolution.
- When I'm on vacation I like to backup every night. That means backing up a card that is not full and I don't format a card unless all my cards are full. So instead of backing up just the new image files I get a complete new folder in the Wolverine with duplicates from the previous day. I would like to have the Wolverine let me choose what backup folder to place files on and ask me to overwrite or just backup new files.
- The joy stick control is too small.
- Provide the option to create backup folder named with the current date.
- Slow backing up files. A full 8 GB card takes a long time to backup.
- Control labels are not easy to read (text is too dark)

Never a Complaint
I have owned this unit for almost two years now, and still love using it. It has seen rugged, constant use, and has never needed repair. The ability to change batteries has made it ideal for long plane flights and travel. I use it for watching movies and video clips, listening to music, and storing photos to enjoy and share with others. It does a good job with all of the above. The screen is large and the picture quality good, making it easy on the eyes.

One great feature on the Wolverine that I thought I would never need is the ability to download a wide variety of media storage cards directly to the unit. This turned out to be a lifesaver this past summer when we needed to access picture files from a broken digital camera while on the go. The Woverine worked flawlessly and saved the files we needed. I have known of others who use the unit to save picture files while on vacation and are then able to reuse memory cards and still view and bring home hundreds of pictures to edit and print.

The Wolverine is large for today's standards, but I feel the quality, dependablity, and features more than justify the few onces and inches difference. If you are just looking for a music player, then look elsewhere. If all you want is to view a few random video clips, then this might be more than you need. If, however, you enjoy watching full length movies or TV shows, while at the same time being able to carry a large stock of music with you, then this might be the unit that would fit your needs.

I would also strongly recommend buying an extra battery and charger to go with your unit. I also have the base station, which not only keeps your unit charged, but allows you to record music and video directly from any sound source or TV. Both of these additions are valuable.

alaska vacation pictures
I bought this for our vacation of a lifetime and was not disappointed. The storage media loads quickly onto the wolverine and I lost nothing in picture quality. The player was also very easy to upload to a developer/online album. Highly recommend it! I have not used it for anything else.

80 GB in a compact package
The menus take awhile to figure out and the advance toggle button could be better-- when you hand it to someone that wants to look at pix its hard for them to maneuver. But that said, its a great small package that holds many different formats. Absolutely indispensible for back ups when travleing and for weddings--

Essential Camera Accessory
The Wolverine ESP has immediately become an essential camera accessory. I am a travel photographer, and while I would love to carry all my equipment with me at all times, I am most frequently deciding what I can do without on this trip to cut weight and space. The Wolverine has never and will never be cut out. It works so well and does such a great job backing up my memory cards, and displaying my photos, I just love working with it. I have upgraded my camera several times in the past few years and each time the files get larger and larger and the memory cards fill up faster and faster. I carry enough cards to get thru a days shooting and then load the files into the Wolverine in the evening. This gives me a great opportunity to review the days shooting on a big beautiful screen without hauling the laptop on every trip.
