Wonderful cost-effective open mp3 player
This is a wonderful player that's small in size but big in features. I like it because:

-It plays open music formats, including FLAC, my personal favorite (Something Apple refuses to do)
-It can function as a voice recorder
-It supports micro HD memory cards, making for unlimited storage and easy migration
-It comes with a low price tag

I highly recommend it!

I have two
I have an 8g Fuze and bought this 4g for the gym. The battery life is great - it's rated at 24 hours I think and that's about right but only if you use the internal memory. If you use a microSDHC card (I have an 8g card), the battery life will be cut in half as the player spends a lot of energy reading the external card. The player syncs well with Windows Media Player. I use one of my Sansa Fuzes for podcasts - for that I use Windows Explorer to copy the files rather than syncing with WMP.

The sound is good but it's not winning any awards (but does any .mp3 player?) The adjustable equalizer is a plus. The wheel is smooth, quiet and responsive - a big improvement over the Sansa e series' kinda cheesy wheels. The screen is very easy to read and you may change the background colors. The FM receiver is good - about what you normally get without a good antenna. The headphone jack is at the bottom - a change from the e series. You may listen to the Fuze when it's charging.

I've had a white screen after I put a lot of podcasts on the SD card - the player was hot since it'd been writing for so long (7g+ of podcasts in one setting). I unplugged it from the sync cable, gave it a few minutes then turned it off. When I turned it back on, all was well. It's durable - I've dropped it a bunch of times.

Definitely a good bang for your buck.

SanDisk Sansa low reliability
The Sansa failed the second day I had it. Customer service was very helpful and after trying everything they agreed the unit had failed. Waiting on replacement umit

SanDisk Sansa Fuse 4GB
I love the blue color, affordable price, and the fact that unlike ipod I don't feel like I'm loosing an arm or a leg should the mp3 player break. It plays video, connects easily to your car stereo, holds 4gb of information (not to mention there is a slot for a mini sd card for even more storage!), it also records live fm radio and voice. I have not had one problem with it since I have purchased it. It connected easily to my Windows Vista run laptop and was super easy to transfer songs! It comes with a converter should any song not be formatted for the fuse (very easy to do). Overall extremely happy and would recommend this to anyone!

Sansa Fuze
Pretty decent product. The only drawbacks are the Media Converter doesn't have all the bells and whistles that an Apple product would. It is less mainstream. It works for me. I know how to get around all the issues. It's very small and light. I bought it for my 8 year old daughter. She hasn't broken it yet. It must be pretty good.

The docking stations/chargers/speaker systems are much less "available" and are a bit pricey as compared to IPOD options. We use an Altec-Lansing IM510, (no longer in production, I believe), that works well. I think there is a successor available that works too.

I found a great deal on mine, (pricewise). I bought it refurbished and it has worked without issues.
