Samsung LN40A550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Between my Wii and a standard DVD player -- the images are great. I can't want to see what full on Blu-Ray will do for this set.

One feature that I really like is the USB connection that allows you to play things from your thumb drive or an I-Pod. It's great fun to sift through photos, music and such on the big screen. I'm also looking forward to using the laptop connection.

If you pick this one up you will not be disappointed!

Consumer reports recommended this TV as best in its class and it has lived up to the report and our expectations. It was easy to install, and compatible with all our other equipment. The purchase and delivery from Amazon was without a hitch.

I live in Trinidad in the West Indies ...I wanted to buy an LCD Tv for quite a while...after doing a lot of checking on the net I found that Samsung was the way to go and I fell in love with the 40A550 model ...I ordered in on the 19th of November from Amazon.com and got it exactly 2 weeks later through normal shipping to reduce the final cost ..in all it cost me a little over $10,000 in our money after paying shipping and all the high and exorbitant taxes here in Trinidad but I am extremely happy with it ...even the sound is okay although at times I play it through other speakers ...great product ..was up and working in less than five minutes after I took it out of the box ...thanks also to amazon.com ...great service ..thanks a lot guys

This is my first large screen tv and I am very pleased with it. The picture is amazing and when playing a Blu-Ray it gets even better. The picture is sharp and I see no ghosting or blur on anything I've watched so far. The only thing I could see that needs improving is the speakers. They do not produce a very deep sound and you have to turn it up quite a bit to hear clearly. It definitely needs a sound bar or a home theater setup added to get good sound. I am greatly pleased with the tv, even with the speaker issue I would buy this tv again.

After our 8 year old, 32" tube TV bit the dust; I researched for a month before buying the "Samsung LN40A550".
The shipping was quick enough, the savings over buying from a retail store were significant, and the delivery as good as advertised. We are more than happy with our choice and recommend it highly. I also suggest using a HDMI cable hookup.
The only shortcoming of this unit is the 60MHZ, as you do see some "slur" in fast paced action/sports programs. But the picture, sound, remote and set-up are excellent.
