Best LCD TV in its class
I did extensive research for a 50"+, 120hz, best picture, and all around great LCD TV. My research led me to this Samsung. Consumer Reports also gave it Top Pick.

Beautiful TV
This TV is a work of art, it is very well constructed and a beautiful design. It looks nice just hanging on the wall turned off! And of course The picture is amazing!

That being said..For my situation the glare on the TV was a bit much..It is much better then many plasmas and other TV's I looked at..but enough to not work in my very bright living room. In the end I returned this TV and got the Sony Bravia XBR 52..I love that TV as well, but I really liked the look of this TV much better.

On Terrific HDTV
After months of research my oldest son in CA and I both decided that the Samsung 5 Series and 6 Series were the best LCD HD TVs. He purchased a 4665 (predecessor to the 5 Series) early in 2008 and I waited till the 52 inch version could be had for under $2500. I bought the LN-52A650 5 months ago from Amazon, and as others had warned, I needed to download and install new firmware to eliminate the random shut-down events. The TV features are fantastic and Hi-Def and normal Cable reception shown just great. The upscaling to 1080P from the DVD player in my rather ancient Sony Home-Theater-in-a-Box shows considerable improvement in DVD viewing quality and I am looking forward to Blu-Ray home-theater-in-a-box when that becomes more affordable. I would like to note that the family research has been confirmed by the recent Consumer Reports' ratings on LCD HI-Def TVs that placed this set at the top of the 52-inch LCDs and the Samsung 46-inch and 40-inch at the top of their peers as well. CRs evaluations were hands-on for the different sets tested and if you are looking to get your first LCD Hi-Def television, I would suggest that you spend about $4.00 and buy the Consumer Reports Dec. '08 issue and take their advise on your purchase. If you are getting ready to spend about 2 grand on a purchase, the more research you do, the better assured you will be that you will not regret your decision.

TV is everything that I could have hopre fore except expensive.
This tv is what you want. It looks great. I bought one for my parents to replace their old rear projection 1080i tv. And the difference id amazing. All of the detail we were missing on the ps3 games has been found.

Great TV and Great Service
I bought this TV in September from Amazon with more than a slight trepidation of ordering such an item online and having it shipped to me. The delivery service company called me to schedule a time to deliver the TV. When they delivered it, they brought it into my apartment, took it out of the box, and plugged it in to ensure it was still working. Since then. the TV has gone through an apartment move and it's come out picture perfect.

I'm definitely no videophile who will notice the minute differences between all of the various settings that the TV allows. However, I will say that I'm greatly pleased with the picture quality and number of inputs. I'm sure it will last me for many years to come.
