Sony S2 Sports Walkman Digital Tuning Weather/AM/FM Stereo Armband Radio (White)

Neat bit of equipment. Brings in FM satisfactorily.
If armband applied tightly enough for stability on a rowing machine impedes circulation to that arm.

I am very dissappointed with this radio. While I like the features, the reception on AM and FM is very poor.

THE VOLUME KNOB FELL OFF WHILE I WAS WALKING. NOW THE RADIO IS WORTHLESS. DO NOT BUY THIS RADIO!!!!!

Not intuitive; if I touch it at all the volume gets messed up; it is just a waste of money. I expected more from Sony. To just set the time (and why???) you need to consult the manual. The Panasonic RF SW series beats this product hands down. After receiving this product, I went to buy.com and bought four Sony RF SWs....

My vote: Don't waste your money. This product is useless.

So far I am very happy with this product. I have never used any kind of headset before. I am 67 and this is my first Walkman. I was forced to look for something of this kind when a neighbor installed an obnoxious wind chime that sounds off all day long near my back yard. I was looking for something I could wear and listen to while doing yard work. I find the armband radio to be amazingly comfortable, the radio reception is great, and the earpieces are comfortable for hours. I listen to KIXI 880 AM, or the Mariner games on KOMO 1000 AM. I can easily turn the volume high enough to drown out the discordant wind chimes. My only problem with it was a "newbie" mistake -- I put the earpieces on backwards and then wondered why I was not getting any sound out of the left side! I think this Walkman is the answer to my problems. I tried putting it on so that the wires were INSIDE the T-shirt I was wearing, not dangling free in front of me. It worked really well and I can do my yard work without having to be careful about the wires. (I live in the Seattle area)
