Sony Walkman Digital Tuning Weather FM/AM Stereo Cassette Player (Silver)

My buying experience was a completely satisfactory starting with my search for this item, negoiations, and delivery. I haven't had the opportunity to used the cassette much (the holidays, you know) but it is just as Amazon advertised, and if it isn't, I feel certain they will handle the problem.

I'm glad that they still sell walkmans! now that people are over cassettes, sony makes them well. no complaints here!

The Am and FM reception was very poor. I live in an area where I normally receive NYC, NJ, and Philadelphia radio stations. On my home radio I can receive dozens of stations but on this Sony Walkman I can receive only a handful and I cannot receive any of the 4 public radio stations.
I have not yet used the cassette player.

Since using this little gem for some time now, I'm quite happy with it. It's very basic (plays in one direction only) and has a wonderful digital radio. Actually, I'm not a fan of auto reverse since they can be troublesome. The cassette section is very impressive with steady speed and the fact it doesn't have Dolby, doesn't bother me at all. This walkman is small and very portable. The supplied earphones aren't bad but I use my own higher quality headphones which really makes a difference. I think cassette sounds better than MP3 anyway!

There is not much demand for cassette players in the world of CD's, mP3's, etc. However, if you have material on cassettes (I have teaching tapes that I made, and ones that I purchased), it is good to have available a reliable product from the prototypical manufacturer. This unit is handy, light-weight, and utilitarian enough for me to recommend. The price is acceptable, as well.
