No fuss no bother. Plug it in to the USB port, save some MP3s to your computer's hard drive from your CDs (etc.), drag and drop them to the Sansa, set the radio stations, and go!. Being over 60 I am not patient with technology. The Clip barely needs a manual. Those who need complex technical pain before they can enjoy listening won't like it. If you just want to load and listen to your music, this is the one.
Two drawbacks: non-replacable battery, and battery charging only via USB port. The relatively inexpensive price takes away some of the pain of knowing that it will some day die with your music onboard. If you save your music on your computer, reloading to a replacement will however be easy. A wall/car charger would be a good investment although the (slow) USB charge seems to last 12-15 hours. 2008-06-02

I am a professional musician. I prefer to own a small and cheap mp3 player as, aside from personal use, I use them to provide background music at weddings and private parties and I don't want to leave an expensive player lying around. I have owned two RCA's and they both died within 6 months. I only just received the Sansa Clip so I don't know how long it will last.
So far I am very impressed! I loaded it to capacity with about 500 tracks with no problems and without needing the manual or any software. Setting this up took about 5 minutes. The tracks are well organized and named in the player. I was not expecting user programmable eq.This is a nice feature. So far this is exactly what I need. The sound quality is very good. I bought two of these, one black & one blue. When I turned on the second one ( blue) it was set to an Asian language with characters I could not recognize. I had to download the online manual to find out how to change the language, but the manual does not give every single step and I could not even guess at the words on the player menus. I had to follow the process on the English Clip and count the menu steps for each menu layer, then replicate the process on the other Clip to change it to English. Had I not owned the other Clip I would probably have had to return the blue one. Despite that I still give this player five stars. 2008-05-21

This is a great little mp3 player. The menu could be a bit more user friendly, but it is a perfect player if you are wanting something small to work out with. 2008-05-15
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Buy the iPod Shuffle? WHAT are you THINKING?!? THIS is your answer
The Sansa Clip is everything those who have given good reviews have said, and more! I have downloaded a really eclectic mix on my unit--from Southern Gospel, to The Spinners, to Steve Wariner, and just finished Lou Bega's "Mambo No.5"--and I'm hearing things in these songs I've never heard before. (Admittedly, I'm using replacement headphones my son bought me, and I do think they're better than the ones in the package, but even those are better than you'd think.) I'm very impressed! I can also live with the quality of the FM tuner--I work for South Dakota's Public Radio Network, and our studios are about 25 miles from the tower and transmitter, and I get a do-able signal in our building. I'll really test the radio this fall, when I try to listen to our local college's football games while sitting in USD's indoor football stadium. Really--this is a wonderful, basic, entry-level mp3 that I think will satisfy any demand. I know I'm satisfied, and I know my wife will be when her Clip arrives later today. 2008-05-14
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nice Design but Terrible Battery
The Clip that I received has terrible battery life. It's almost unusable. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because I realize that this is probably a defective item. The design is nice. Logical controls, the display is nice and bright, etc. It's a real shame it doesn't work. It's under warranty, and it's going back. 2008-05-02
