Disappointed!
Considering the other positive reviews of the Sansa Clip, my experience has not been the same. For one thing, the packaging came with a circular "space" for Rhapsody music software mini-CD and included a brochure for it, but the CD was not in the package. I returned it because of this and the next package was the same - no CD. But the worst part was that the battery would not hold a charge for more than a couple of hours regardless of being fully charged via the USB port or the AC adapter. On the other hand, the digital FM tuner worked really well which was the main reason I bought the Sansa, so I could listen to my local radio station on my daily bike commute. However, given that the battery wouldn't hold a charge, I was very disappointed. I didn't feel I should have to charge the battery daily after only an hour or two of use.

Pleasantly surprised...works on a Mac too
When this little mp3 player was delivered, my first reaction was, "wow that's small!" and boy is it ever. The image on the webpage is just about actual size, if you were to hold it up to your monitor. What this little goodie lacks in size it sure makes up for in features though. My review would sound like most everyone else's here, however I wanted to write one and let any potential Macintosh users know that this plugs right into a Macintosh OS X Leopard OS, with absolutely no problem; it recognizes it in a snap, and you can drag folders and files right in Finder.

I am thoroughly delighted with this purchase, and I recommend this player to anyone who is looking for a small mp3 player with a bunch of features, but not needing all the features of something like an iPod.

GREAT BUY
I bought the sansa clip several months ago. It works beautifully and is so very easy to use! I had several mp3 players before this one, and none of them worked for very long. The price is right, the clip is great (especially if you drop things as much as I do!), and you can just "click and drag" your files onto it. I haven't had one moment's trouble with it. I didn't even need the insruction manual to figure it out (some mp3 players have really weird specifications and software!) and it works with a standard mini usb charger (5 volts i think). I use my phone charger to plug it in!

The only thing that is not the greatest about it is that it ignores the names I give to the album folders in my computer. Aslo, you're adding ripped music, make sure you change the file names before loading them onto the sansa clip. Otherwise, every song called "track 1" will be the same thing!

Works Great With Linux
The main reason I like this player is because it works flawlessly with Ubuntu 8.04 (Linux). I was also looking for a player loud enough to hear without my hearing aids as I have a severe to profound hearing loss. I have to turn the volume pretty much to the max though.

I could even create playlists after I discovered this link:

http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=clip&thread.id=4410

Following the instructions, the playlists download and work perfectly.

The only bad thing is that the earbuds that came with it hurt a little bit after a while, but I think that most people replace the earbuds anyway. The sound quality is still very good.

Considering that the ipod shuffle is $49 dollars on the apple website, but doesn't have a screen or a way to add playlists, the sansa clip is definitely a better deal. I wasn't expecting how small it was going to be; it's very tiny, but I was fine with it once I got over the initial surprise.

I don't regret buying this one iota.

Can't Go Wrong with the Sansa Clip
No real complaints about the Sansa Clip. It's compatible with my library's digital software. The batter power is pretty impressive, I get 12+hrs out of mine. Initially I had a problem with the player, it wouldn't let me pause or fast-forward, but if you visit the Sansa website there's a driver that you can download to correct that. It's very durable (I've dropped mine loads of times and it still works fine) and it's super easy to download things onto.

After about 8 months the clip on the back of mine did break, but that's really been my only problem. Best $35 my husband ever spent on me!

My only recommendation might be to splurge on one of the 2GB or 4GB Sansa clips if you're like me and want to load your mp3 player up with several audiobooks at once, I do sometimes feel limited by only 1GB of space.
