Sony MHC-EC55 Mini Hi-Fi Component System

I've been a loyal Amazon customer for about 15 years and all these years I had full confidence in their product and what they stand behind. I never had any problem with purchase until now. I had this stereo system for exactly 2 days until it stopped functioning completely. When I turn this system on nothing happens except just turns off by itself. I waited longer for this product to get to my place then to actually use it. Absolutely disappointed. From now on, I will go to store directly get electronic equipments instead of ordering online.

I have this system in my basement and it is perfect for the space. The controls are slightly confusing, but one gets plenty of sound in a small package with a small price. Sony quality.

The mini stereo system arrived in excellent condition in original packaging. It works as well as I expected for the size and price. I had looked at much smaller shelf systems in the same price range, but chose this mini system primarily because it can hold 3 CDs/mp3s and had much better speakers. The receiver picks up more radio stations than the larger stereo system that it replaced.

I bought this Sony shelf system for my bedroom- funny thing is, it's a little too deep for my shelf! I had to turn the main unit at an angle to fit it. Hookup was a snap. I loaded a few burned mix CDs and waited to hear how things sounded- I was pleased with what my ears heard. The smallish speakers have a gaudy "high-tech transformers" look about them, but all is forgiven when you hear how good these sound. The extra bass switch makes them come alive- and the rock EQ preset adds even more oomph. There's plenty of bass, and it can play at a good loud volume without distorting or breaking up. I suggest anyone looking for a good quality sound CD/radio check this Sony out- you won't be disappointed.
