Worth the money spent
Simple and straight forward, not much fancy stuff, good enough for plain users. It worked great for me.

A 4.5 Star HDTV Receiver
Amazon.com has been treating me well since my first deal with them. Once more, a moth ago, I ordered and received the Samsung DTBH260F HDTV Receiver smoothly. Installation was a piece of case provided that I have an engineering background. Like many reviews mentioned, the receiver will not work alone. You need strong enough signals from either cable or an antenna. I have Comcast Basic ($16/month). I can see a few dozens of HD and SD crystal clear from cable. My goal is to get rid of Cable. So, I tried different antennas to get Over the Air HD and SD programs and haven't got a satisfactory result yet. The test is still going on. With a hill and trees between my house and the TV towers for Philly Area which are 18 miles away, I need not only a good antenna but a good signal booster. So far, I got about 7 HD and 15 SD. Back to the receiver.
Pros:
1. It does what the product description states. You will not like Analog TV anymore.
2. The price is affordable.
3. The box is small, like a book.
Cons:
1. The power light (LED) is blue/cyan, which can be hardly seen from 10ft away.
2. It has a small angle for the remote control. You need to really point to the receiver.
3. The receiver is solely controlled by the remote control. Don't loss it.
4. The on-screen manual has a loose design. In particular, it's annoying when you need to check signal strength.

In general, I am satisfied with its performance, provided that there are not so many options in the market for HDTV receiver. I would give it 4.5 stars. I definitely recommend this product to my friends.

Stunning audio and video
I bought this receiver to solve a problem I was having with my Mitsubishi wd-52631. The TV has a great picture, but on some stations the audio that I port to an A/V receiver through the digital output of the TV is flakey. It cuts in and out. This is with a nearly 100 percent signal on TV.

This is were the Samsung DTBH260F comes in. I use a HDMI cable to send video to the Mitsubishi TV and an optical cable to send audio to my Yamaha receiver. The results are simply stunning. The audio gets decoded into 5.1 surround sound by the Yamaha A/V receiver and the video is at least as good if not better than the Mitsubishi's tuner.

As other reviewer's have noted, the remote is the weak link. This is of no concern to me because I use a Harmony 890 remote. If you are having problems with the tuner in your HDTV or just need a great little Hi Def tuner buy this one. You won't be disappointed if you use a HDMI cable for video and an optical cable for audio!

Died after a year of very little use.
Product worked okay until it just gave out after a little over a year. What a waste of money.

So far so good
Having bought a Sony HD ready TV circa 2002 from Craigslist I wasn't too surprised to find that it didn't include an actual HD tuner. This little box does the trick, allowing me to use a set-top terrestrial antenna ($30 from Radioshack) to receive beautiful HD television on all 4 major networks, Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) as well as a few wierdo channels. It's a breeze to setup, includes a component video cable, optical audio out for true surround sound with a receiver, and easy to follow instructions. Probably a bit overpriced, though it's a pretty small market. The onscreen controls aren't very well thought out and don't provide as much customization as you might want, but the "Signal Strength" feature is great for helping to position your antenna.

Overall I'm very happy with this product.
