![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Works perfect for my needs
I decided I wanted to hook my turntable to my pc to rip my large vinyl collection to digital format. In my search I saw this preamp. I was unprepared for the compactness of the unit and quality of the sound of the ripped music, an additional plus was the price, which was very reasonalble. 2010-03-05
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not Loud Enough
I guess you could say it "works" but with my system (Pioneer 1019) I have to turn the volume up easily twice as high as a CD or digital source. If you turn it up it sounds OK, but I don't like that if I switch sources (ie: back to CD or TV) that I can blow the roof off with the volume. 2010-02-28
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Disappointing
Used this unit with a well grounded turntable but still experienced a very audible hum. Incidentally, the turntable was previously used with an "xitel inport" and exhibited absolutely no hum so my sense is that the Pyle Preamp is the problem and not the turntable itself. Repackaged it and put on the shelf. Go the xitel route and save the dollars and grief! 2010-01-30
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER!
This item is essential for anyone who wants to use an older vintage turntable to play their LP's through a modern amplification setup that does not have the old "Phono" jacks but do have the "Aux" inputs. This item performs very well and the price here on Amazon was the lowest on the internet that I could find and I am very happy with it and use it almost everyday. The only way it could be better is if it ran on a battery versus having an outlet cord. 2010-01-10
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RIAA Preamp works great!
The Pyle Pro RIAA phono preamp works as advertised, right out of the box! Good clean sound, but should have a ground lug on the input side to attach the ground wire from the phono to eliminate 60 Hz hum. I use an alligator clip on the shield of the RCA phono input plugs. 2010-01-07
