Audio Technica AT-PL50 Belt Drive Turntable

the new turntable I bought was less money than if I would have boughten a used one on ebay. it plays great and I love playing my old albums that I haven't heard since my old turntable quit working over 15 years ago.

Sounds great but occasionally does not track well on old lp's with some wear.

This is a great starter turntable, or replacement to record vinyl to audio files on a computer. My Dual turntable from 1971 finally quit, and the cost to repair was much more than purchasing this unit. I was in the process of transferring my fairly large vinyl collection to mp3 format. Since I have purchased this unit, I have recorded another 200 vinyl albums to mp3 and have only had 2 records ever skip....and they were not the best vinyl!
The sound is good from the magnetic cartridge, I cannot hear an audible diffeence from the expensive magnetic cartridge I had in my Dual 1218 turtable.
Bottom line: I'd buy this again at the price! I don't think it looks like it will last anywhere near as long as the Dual, but I don't expect to be needing it longer than another year!

I purchased the Audio Technica AT-Pl50 Turntable so that I would be ablet to convert my old vinyl 33's to CD's. Amazon had a very reasonable price.
The turntable more than met my expectations. No frills and whistles but a solid, well built machine. The PL50 has no means of adjusting speed or stylus pressure but I found there was was no need since each was very accurate.It would have been nice to adjust the stylus pressure since I was working with old vinyl records, but most of the time not necessary.
I was working with a software program called "Spin It Again" where I could adjust for most problems that arose. The built in Pro Amp makes it possible to plug the turntable dirctly into my computer.
All in all I am very pleased and would highly recommend the turntable.

Have had no problems with the unit. Replaced a turntable from the sixties with better results, still plays albums made in the sixties with great sound.
