Audio Technica AT-PL50 Belt Drive Turntable

I bought this turntable about a year ago, when I got it for 40 bucks! (refurbished) I have not had one problem with it, and it sounds GREAT! Along with others, I also use it to transfer vinyl to cd. I have an old Pioneer cd burner hooked up to the stereo system in my den, and I take the tracks to cd, then the cd to the computer, convert the tracks to mp3 files, and store them on the computer for when I want to load them onto my mp3 player. I have had NO problems with skips. And the sound quality, to my ear, is superb.
It worked straight out of the box by reading the instructions, and set up was about 5 minutes. Delivery was quick.
To be able to listen to the old songs of my youth (I'm 52) either directly off the turntable, or from a cd or mp3 player is pure heaven!

A great turntable for the price. Only took 10 minutes to hook up to my computer. Fast delivery from Amazon.

Some minor negatives:
1. My computer now defaults to the Line-In input of my sound card, to which I connected the turntable. So I have to switch to the Mic-In input everytime I want to use my desktop microphone with Skype. Presumably a turntable with a USB input would leave my mic input always on.
2. I had the impression the sound recording software came with the turntable, but not. But I think its free on the web.

I would recommend this for anyone just wanting to listen to their old records.

I could detect no wow, flutter, hum or noise. It played the first time and every time. The equalization was perfect, and classical records sounded precisely as they should. Everything is provided in the package that could possibly be required, no matter where the turntable is installed. Withal, it was sold new at a rock bottom price. What more could one possibly ask?

The sound quality is terrible, It is completely useless for the purpose for which I purchased it.

Also, it will not play 78 RPM records.

Works very well as a basic turntable to play my old album's I dug out of storage.
