No Bass but plenty of Distortion
I wanted to buy a set of very portable speakers that I could use outdoors with my laptop or Ipod Touch. With four stars, I certainly expected these speakers to be good. Granted, the price suggested that they couldn't be great, but I expected that they would be at least OK.

First the positive:

They are very portable.
They are relatively well-made (though the cords are extremely thin and seem easily breakable).
They do produce more volume than my laptop speakers.

Next, the negative:

The sound, the sound, the sound.

I guess I should not have expected more but I set these up with my laptop and expected an obvious improvement and set them up with optimism. My daughter, son and wife all were there to listen. What they heard was tinny, distorted and overall, most foul. I tried playing with my computer's EQ and volume but the resulting sound was quite unpleasant. The high end was passable until the volume was turned up and then the sound was distorted and everybody noticed and said that they thought the speakers were unlistenable. As bad as the sound was, what was most surprising was the absolute lack of bass. Opening the top, which was supposed to accent the bass, was useless. I can't imagine how anyone could claim that these speakers have bass. What are they hearing? Do they know what low end is? I must say that the speakers that came with my desktop, as feeble as they are, blow these away - but that's not hard...the only speakers that don't blowe them away are the included speakers with my Ipod and my laptop. With that said....YUCK!

You can buy these if you need a tad more volume on your laptop or MP3 player but don't turn the volume up and don't expect any bass. These speakers produce none!

Rockers ROCK!
I had to replace a small set of speakers for travel. I like music in the morning and decided to give these a try. Most little speakers sound like little speakers, you can't expect too much. However, I was blown away by the sound and the volume of these Mini Rockers. Granted the bass is on the light side, but the sound is really sharp and clear. I use them with my Ipod and the sound fills a small room just fine. I am also a bit concerned about the plastic ends of the cables coming off, but they seem to be well made so I'm keeping my fingers crossed... I really like the rechargable battery, it's no fun carrying spare batteries around. Overall I think they are a great buy, I'm really happy with them!

Great little speakers with a sleek design for the road.
These little guys are stylish, easy to use and compatible with most audio devices. While the quality won't compete with many deluxe, high-range speakers, they will please many ears and anyone looking for an affordable portable speakers won't be disappointed with these. One "bullet" actually splits into two halves and you have two speakers and not one as it may look like. I used these with first generation iPhone and was very pleased with the performance.
