good scanner;good value
The included info about where to find local frequencies was a plus. The reception is a minimum of "3 Bars" better than my handheld.[a plus in rural WI.]I did not want the clock. I am very glad it come with it. The snyc w/ the atomic clock and battery back-up are great features. I like the weather alert feature.[heavy snow, severe T-storms and Tornadoes are normal here]I would buy this again.

Happy with the scanner
Excellent coverage. Picks up all civ and mil aviation. Smaller form factor than I expected. Will run off battery if you want to take it with you.

"Excellent Radio for the Price!"
I have a pre-Uniden scanner that has 18 programmable channels so this is a wonderful upgrade. I love this radio. It not only looks great it operates just as well. The radio is sensitive to pull in the weaker signals, Sounds good and clear, has plenty of user friendly features and loads of channels to program.
I like the clock alarm feature and backlit readout. Perfect for nightime scanning. The Service Scan feature comes in really handy in scanning the most widely used frequencies for particular Services. Police,Fire, Aircraft etc.

Besides being a good radio I got it for a good price here on Amazon for $119 from DigitalEtc.
Super fast processing and delivery. See my review of the seller.
Can't go wrong with buying here on Amazon. Good products and good prices.
Been shopping here on Amazon for about 9 years and never had a problem.

Satisfied here in Jersey!

no codes
After checking all the specs for this scanner I bought it for my sons birthday. He could not get the police calls in our area with out "trunk tracker" After checking it himself he realized he would need a more expensive scanner (not a big problem) but would also then have to paid more money to get the codes. He suggested I buy a puppy for myself and forget the scanner. Very disappointed, thought this would be a great present!

Great Scanner!
I bought this for Christmas as a present for my wife, we live in a very rural area and thought this would be great to keep tabs on the emergencies in the area. We also own a restaurant with delivery and thought it might help us avoid traffic jams for our delivery drivers. It has done both.

Some of the reviews have concerns with the ease of programing, pretty simple and straight forward...if you can work basic electronics you should have no problem using this scanner...very imformative and eye opening if you have never used one! All sorts of things going on around you that you are probably not aware of! We live in a hollow in a very rural area and have no problem with reception. We had the weather radio on last night during a severe thunder storm and heard a tornado was spotted less than 6 miles from us! Very useful indeed!

I would suggest asking a local law enforcement officer if they use a 10-code system and look on the internet for the breakdown of those codes. Also check out this website for all of your local emergency frequencies!
