My Dad Likes Them
We helped my dad get the unit hooked up and he seems very happy. He is also very happy he no longer has to mess with a hearing aid while watching T.V. I would recommend the product.

Now you can be all ears--
TV Ears Original are by far the best listening device I have tried. I am VERY hard of hearing and have tried many types, including expensive head sets and find TV Ears is way out front of all. I wear behind the ear hearing aids and can hook the ear pieces by the aids and hear well. They work well for me directly in the ears also. Don't look further, they don't come better.
Now I enjoy tv again.

Works for us !!!
My wife has need of hearing help. A hearing aid does NOT do it for TV sounds. She had the chance to try one of these "ears" at a friends home and was so helped that we bought a set for her. Amazon.com had the best price. It does work as described and voice frequencys are enhanced. Even if the viewing room is quiet, she wears the "ears" to improve the sound for her. A GREAT device.

Better Equipment Available
I have been using this brand for several years. They do a pretty good job, but there is better technology, build quality, and customer service available.

First, if you ever crack a piece of the plastic housings (very easy to do as the housings are quite cheaply made) not many parts are available from the company. And When the batteries go toes up, count on replacing large assemblies. You might as well consider these dispose and replace.

Second, all of the models I have tried are not even stereo. What's with that? Other companies (CLARITY C120 comes in lower priced with much better design and quality) offer stereo and detachable battery packs!

The old adage applies here...Shop Around!

Great for me, not for my mom
1)Wireless headphones are a good idea for any home: For instance, my husband is back in school, so when he's pulling a homework all-nighter, I just pull out my TV Ears and he can work in silence.
2)Consider the needs of the user: For Xmas, I purchased TV Ears for my 80 year old hard-of-hearing mom. Coincidentally, she also received a competing set that uses radio frequency. She chose to keep the RF headphones because she can walk around the house and even use the bathroom (!) TV Ears are infrared red,so out of sight, out of sound.
3)Consider sound quality: The RF headphones that my mom kept sound terrible. The sound is muddled and there's a hiss, but she can't tell because she can't hear very well. TV Ears have a nice clean sound which is important to me, but not to my mother.
4)Consider comfort: From other Amazon reviews, I was worried about the weight and feel of the TV Ears, but they feel fine to me. The feel was fine to my mom as well.
5)Batteries: My mom's RF don't recharge and she's using batteries at a nice clip. I wouldn't purchase any headphones that don't recharge.
6)Don't give up: Several years ago, I had purchased for myself a different brand of infrared headphones. They had a noticeable hiss and weren't acceptable to me.
7)Final Analysis: I'm really pleased with TV Ears. Sound quality is excellent and they feel fine in my ears. But for the hard of hearing I think there are better cheaper options. Be prepared to return any set until the user is comfortable with the sound and feel. They will probably use them every day for many years. You might as well spend some time and get it right.
