How to make your Sansa E2x0 even better...
This is a fine device, the firmware is just ok.

To make it better, install Rockbox firmware (rockbox.com) (free, open source)

Then, you can use WinFF (also free, open source) to make videos for it (WinFF actually has a Rockbox/Sansa preset)

Using this combo, I put flv's from YouTube on my Sansa all the time and they "Just Work (tm)"

Only ONE complaint...
Love the MP3 player; it does everything I need it to do. I purchased it with the intent of downloading my music PLUS numerous audio books from the library - works perfect! My one complaint is that I don't have more control over the volume; there are two settings "normal" & "high" and I haven't noticed a huge difference between the two. I do wish I could lower the volume below the "normal" built in level. The volume control should allow the user to decide their own hearing ability.

Gets the job done.
I can't add too much that hasn't been said by others, but here's what I've got to say as far as my problems with this player.

Sometimes when I go to hit the middle button I barely touch the outer button and it turns to the next item, not the item I was going for. This is slightly irritating.

Sometimes it does take awhile to "load up" when you turn it on. I had one before that totally stopped during this part and couldn't get it back to working even after talking to a customer service rep so I just took it back (to Best Buy - I had the no questions asked return policy).

Maybe I need to learn how to do the playlists (is this my fault?), but it puts the playlists in random order. You would think they'd be in alphabetical order, but they aren't. I just have to dial through to find the playlist I want.

That said, I am pretty satisfied with the player, and incredibly satisfied with the reason I bought the player - Rhapsody. Subscribing to Rhapsody has changed my life for the better, so I deal with this "so-so" player.

the best MP3 player
I started with a 2GB Sansa and graduated to the 8GB. I run a tractor for 10 hours a day and I feel the sansa is the best. The battery life is incredible. It will go 20 hours before it needs charging. With the expandable memory with the micro chip I can put a couple of thousand songs on it. It is so compact and easy to use I wouldn't have anything else.

Great MP3 player
This is a great MP3 player. The sound is great, size is good, and has plenty of memory. I've had mine for about 2 months now and works great. I havn't had no problems. My only complant is that mine came brand new and the screen had some scratches on the left part of it. So it seems that the screen will scratch rather easily. I bought an iclear cover made by griffin for it and it protects it well. I highly recommend it. Overall this is a great Mp3 player. I believe it is better than the ipods. I would buy it again. Another bonus with this player is that the internal battery is replaceable. And with me being a trained electronic professional, that is a must. When did it become standard practice to make new items in which when the battery is dead, the whole item becomes garbage? A replaceable battery is common sense and a must for me. Also, as a footnote: be aware that one must have the windows media player 10 or later to sync songs to this player, and so windows Xp or later is almost a must.
