Good for the price
Picture quality is good but I have nothing to compare it to other than a standard DVD player. MUCH better than a standard DVD player. Not a very good "receiver" replacement but with my TV I can manage... if I had a video game console I'd need to figure out how to run the sound though which would suck. I really like the auto configure feature... really don't like that you have to purchase TWO wireless transmitters for the 4 rear surround sound speakers. Sound quality is pretty good... doesn't compare to a much higher quality sound system but the price you cannot beat and for my little apartment it's definitely going to tide me over for now until I upgrade.

panasonic sc-bt200
When I received sc-bt200 it would not play standard dvd's, but it played blu-ray fine.Panasonic sent me to a local repairman, they had it for 5 weeks then they told me it could not be fixed, that I needed to pick it up and send it back to panasonic myself.I called panasonic on the phone and asked for a new replacement and have been turned down.Today I faxed them my receipt and now I am waiting for them to send me the shiping slip, so they can try to fix it.Do not send them e-mail, they will say they'll contact you but never do. This is the last panasonic product for me.

SC-BT200
I had a Panasonic SC-PT660 that just got replaced with this SC-BT200. It was way easier to set up due to the length of the speaker wires. (40' back and 26' surround) I had to cut and crimp on the old one. I performed the smart setup (which was cool) and it seemed to work, but after set up I tested it with Transformers 2 without any other adjustments. I could barely hear the diaglouge because it was drowned out with bass. The subwoofer is not included in the smart setup process and only has 4 levels of automatic adjustment. I set it to the lowest level and still too much bass for me. After reading the manual for quite a while i figured out how to manually turn the subwoofer down with a range from -6db to +6db. Once i adjusted this, the sound was spectactular. The one scene when the helicopter picks up the car, you could hear the helicopter litteraly go around the room. The picture quality was very good without ajustment. After slight tweeking it was perfect. I have it hooked to a panasonic plasma via HDMI.

Nice system
Performs better than you would think a budget HTIB would. Didn't want to spend a lot, and wanted small hangable front speakers, so went with this vs. sc-bt300. Sound is great, picture is great. Bluray disc loading takes a while, but I believe that is common for bluray players (the less expensive, the slower the startup). Once the movie starts it is worth the wait.
