Pyle 2-Channel 15 Band Octave Graphic Equalizer

Great little EQ. My R channel just burned out though after about a year. Cheap enough that I didn't mind forking out the cash for a second one. Perfect for EQing my 78's.

The improvement in sound this unit produces is dramatic, and the price is right. HOWEVER, this particular unit is designed more for DJ layouts and audio studios than home audio. It is not shielded. If this unit is located away from your amps or other components it is great. However, if located close to them (as in a cabinet or vertical stack of a home theater layout) it will inject what sounds like an ungrounded hum int the audio. It's not caused by poor ground, it's a byproduct of having an ungrounded system physically located close to other powered components. Units designed for home audio use are better shielded, of course their performance is not quite on a par wit this unit.

I experienced this phenomena with two separate units, and in both cases the solution was to physically move the unit away from the other components. However, that had it sitting by itself way from the rest of the system and looked ugly. Replaced it with a unit designed for home audio. Not as stellar a performer as this unit, but I could put it right in with the other components and no feedback.

if two 15 bands are all you need then this eq is excellent. Good quality and better price.

I realize this is listed as a musical instrument, But I grew frustrated with the limited selection of EQs for home stereo. I found this one, and bought it as it had RCA jacks. I like the two ranges of Equalization, and the level boost/cut for each channel. The 15 bands give you very good control of the sound. It works great and is only 1 u, it does not take much space at all. At this price it is a bargain.
