Bose® Wave® music system multi-CD changer, Graphite Gray

I did not receive a working product and spent a great deal of time sending products back to the seller as well as q great deal of time communicating with the seller. However with this great deal of communication, the seller stood by his product and reimbursed the cost.

I have never been picky or knowledgeable about stereos, but I stayed in a hotel in Boston that had a Bose clock radio and really loved the sound. I got the basic Wave music system (the clock radio I heard in Boston which now comes with one CD slot) and the multi CD changer for Christmas a year ago. The two parts come boxed separately and each comes with the small-ish remote, so you start with a spare remote which is great. (I keep one in a drawer for emergencies when I lose the main one). Also, extra remotes are only $10 with free shipping - super nice I think, most high end sellers don't give you a break on anything.

My main issue with the multi CD changer is that it is so slow and noisy when changing CDs that I actually thought it must be faulty/broken. I mean, what is going on in there?! It is the sound of a heavy duty piece of machinery doing a heavy lifting job. HOPEFULLY (although other reviews do not bode well) that heavy machinery is also sturdy and problem-free. My other issue is that for the cost, I'd think it would hold maybe 6 CDs instead of 3.

The remote is easy to use even for someone with no patience for such things - it is easy to set play modes for repeat, shuffle, etc. And the system is beautiful. Also surprisingly heavy - again, I hope there's a great motor in there doing the work. But it would be nice to at least have an on/off switch for when you are in a hurry and don't want to hunt down the remote.

I still love it, but I'm disappointed that they are all like mine so I can't exchange it for a quick, quiet one. If Bose wants to generate some real customer loyalty, they will improve the speed/noise issue and let those of us with the first generation changer get the new one for a nice discount if we bring in our old one.

Without this changer, the basic Bose Wave Music System will hold two CDs, but with it attached to your system, you can load five CDs and enjoy hours of uninterrupted music. My only gripe is that I had to set up my Bose Wave Music system first, and then "add-on" the changer by installing extra software located on one disc (included). This really isn't much of a hassle, but it does take a bit of extra work. (Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, and you shouldn't have any problems). The bottom line is that this changer works flawlessly; helping the Wave Music System put out hours of fantastic sound, and it is well-worth the extra cost. And when your system is playing, your friends won't believe the sound is coming from the little "radio" on your nightstand. You can't beat the sound for the price. I did my homework before purchasing, and my research kept bringing me back to the Bose Wave System. I read reviews that found the average person can't detect the difference between this system, and one costing two or three times more, and I have to agree. I'm certainly no expert, but to me the Wave System lives up to its reputation. Having said that, this multi-CD changer makes the system much more convenient and adds to the enjoyment you will receive from your Bose Wave System.

Less than 2 years after buying this through QVC the cd in slot 2 is stuck, will not eject and has disabled the cd play function for the 2-piece system. Bose says to send it in for repair for $90 ($75 plus shipping and tax). That's more than 30% of the purchase price!! We hardly used this system except for Christmas music and now it is just a large, EXPENSIVE, paperweight.

I returned my purchase to Bose for an exchange for one that doesn't have the same problem. I left empty-handed.

Turns out the problem is just mine. When the CD Changer is attached to the Wave CD player the system will only stop playing the CDs when you push "STOP" on the remote! Otherwise the CD or CDs will play endlessly. Or I can disconnect the CD Changer from the main CD Player for those times I want to just play one CD and have it stop when it's done.

I said to the tech on the phone and the salesperson in the store that $650.00 is a lot of money for a system that can't just play one, two or more CDs and stop when finished playing.

I guess they specialize in superb sound with limited focus on other features. Maybe they feel that the sound is so good that you will want to hear it non-stop!

So I will look for something less costly for the bedroom upstairs. I will wait for Bose to "fix" this "problem". It seems so basic.
