Sony D-NF340 CD Walkman & MP3 Player w/FM Tuner

Portability-wise, it's a great item. A CDman with a radio is always a plus. I really like the "play where it stopped feature". Helps get back to where you had to stop it. Quality of sound won't really make a difference till you put on high-end stereo headphones.

Otherwise, I'd recommend this item to anyone looking to go retro with CDs as that'll probably be what will happen with the MP3 players, Ipods and Zunes taking over everyone's headphones.

This CD player was purchased to add MP3 capability to a radio which can play standard CDs or tapes so that Books-on-Tapes could be heard. If your music is through an iPod this isn't for you, you don't need it. If your library has texts, novels,etc. in MP3 format this is for you. Sound quality is excellent although I use my own ear phones or plug it into the audio input of my radio (make certain your radio has one). It is fully portable and could easily be used with a 'Boom-Box'. Battery life is average and you can purchase a small transformer if you want to use it with house outlets. I really haven't had it long enough to comment on durability.The FM adds nothing but may have appeal to some, the issue is reception as there is no antenna tospeak of.

This CD player is about as good as you will find on the market today. So many companies have abandoned the physical medium players for electronic file players that your choices are quite limited. This player is the best I was able to find after many hours of searching. I've used it daily since receiving it and have found nothing wrong with it so far. It even saves your place in the middle of a track when you change batteries. That's a nice feature.

Sony makes the best portable CD players hands down . Don't even waste your money on any other brand . I have used these players for years and use them every single day. Simply put , they do what they say they will do and in the long run that is all we want from products.

My husband got this for me last Christmas and about 6 weeks ago, it started becoming intermittent -- stopping randomly and without reason. The CD I use in it is a sleep aid and that is ALL that plays in this item. The CD plays in three other players and on my lap top but now it no longer plays at all on this player.
