Canon WWDC1 Weight for Canon Waterproof and All Weather CasesCustomer Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Total Reviews: 20 Best Offer: $22.89 By Supplier: 17th Street Photo Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 business days ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Overkill
Canon should have included the WW-DC1 with the waterproof case or should have produced the case with the correct weight to make it and the camera neutrally buoyant. Lacking that, purchasers of any waterproof case should ask their hardware store for lead flashing that can be cut in to pieces to fit inside the case to obtain the same objective.
The case, by the way, makes focusing and aiming very difficult when snorkeling in bright light. 2007-09-09

It takes a little practice but is easy once you know how to use it. I recommend the weights sold seperately. Four weights come in the package with one being not quite enough and 2 weights probably too much. I used 1 wt. and it works better than 2. 2007-08-29

I rate the product as worhtless because I did not need the weights for the camera case that I purchased. I went diving 130ft deep and the weights were never needed for for the camera. I would like to return the weights since I have not used them and they are basically worthless to me. 2007-08-14
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() good product , but necessary???
I got these for the case I purchased for my 700 IS and the most useful thing in the box was the manual. It tells you how to find out how many weights your camera model requires (which in my case was none!!!) So while these weights work great if you need them, make sure you do before you buy. Look around for Canon's underwater photography guide which should help clue you in. 2007-05-15

The Canon underwater housings are designed to protect your camera from the elements, whether they are sand, rain, pool, or ocean. For use on the beach, while snorkeling, or taking shots of your kids in a pool there is little or no need to worry about the buoyancy of your camera housing. If you free dive or scuba dive you do not want your camera housing floating out of your hands. These weights are an easy way to adjust the buoyancy of your housing. The kit comes with four weight plates so you can fine tune your housing's buoyancy. I prefer a heavier setup and have added an extra plate compared to what was recommended by Canon. I'm very happy with the setup and they are very easy to use.
