Pentax AF 360 FGZ Flash for Pentax and Samsung Digital SLR Cameras (w/ case)Customer Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Total Reviews: 18 Best Offer: $134.00 By Supplier: TrendSavvy Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 business days ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A nice flash. I like it more than my AF540FGZ
It is a very compact flash with outstanding built quality.
Some people complain about lack of horizontal movement. I do not have any problem with this, as I can always use it off-camera with my K10D in wireless mode. I have also the Pentax AF540FGZ flashgun, so I can compare both units. Unless I really need the power of the AF540FGZ, I prefer the 360 over the 540 for the reasons below: - design and built quality is superior to the ones of 540 (changing batteries in the AF540FGZ is a nightmare due to poor design of the battery compartment cover - difficult to open and especially to close it) - it is compact and fits in my smaller bag 2007-07-30

I'm pleased with the flash, but still am learning more about it. One thing is that I wish the camera and flash would focus and adjust more rapidly. I realize this probably isn't possible. A good value at the price I paid. llb 2007-06-26
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Flash smarter than me.
I bought the flash for my Pentax *ist SLR. I have used it for about a month now. I am very pleased with its performance. It is amazing to listen to it talk to the camera and change zoom settings as I zoom the camera. I have used it in dimly lit places and for fill flash in brighter places. It has performed well in both conditions. 2007-06-12

Had this for over a month now. The flash does its job well but i still had that underexposing i experienced with the built in flash. This is not the fault of the 360 but i think the overrated P-TTL. Underexposure seems to be a big problem with the K series using P-TTl, but I found a way around this underexposing. Pentax could have also included a horizontal swivel I think. 2007-06-02
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 360 is not a good name for this flash!
I mistakenly purchased this flash thinking it would give me more bouncing flexibility than it actually delivers. The name "360" belies the fact that it does NOT rotate even 1 degree. I just upgraded from a total Olympus digital SLR system to a total Pentax with the K10D as the camera. I now wish I had not ordered the flash as, though it delivers nice light directly and with the strobe angled upward at 45, bounced off of the built-in diffuser, it does not allow you to turn it sideways or to the rear to take advantage of larger surfaces to give a softer and more diffuse light. The integration with the camera is o.k., but it does not go to sleep when the camera does, and has a manual slide switch to turn it on. The boost for the flash is built into the flash and not the camera. I liked controlling the brightness from the camera in my Olympus. I love the K10D but not this flash! 2007-04-12
